Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Asserts Full Readiness to Secure Egypt’s Natural Gas Demand During the Summer Season

As part of the ongoing field follow-up of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ preparations to meet peak energy demand during the summer season, Eng.Karim Badawi , Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, visited the LNG import and regasification facilities at AinSokhna. The infrastructure includes three Regasification Units (FSRUs) Hoegh Galleon and Energos Eskimo at the Sumed  Port, and Energos Power at the Sonker Port. The visit aimed to assess their technical readiness, operational efficiency, and continuous preparedness to receive LNG cargoes, regasify them, and inject natural gas into Egypt’s national gas grid.

During the visit , the Minister asserted that Egypt possesses an integrated and flexible naturalgas supply system capable of securing gas supplies and meeting the demands of power generation plants, industrial consumers, and various economic sectors throughout the summer months. He emphasized that the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources is implementing a proactive plan in close coordination with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy to ensure the stability, reliability, and sustainability of energy supplies for citizens and all vital sectors.
