Minister of Petroleum Discusses Oil and Gas Exploration Plans with Eni’s Head of North Africa and the Levant
Eng. Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, held a meeting with Diego Portoghese, Eni’s Head of North Africa and Levant Region, and Francesco Gasparri, General Manager of Eni Egypt, to follow up on exploration and production activities at the company’s sites in Egypt and discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Eng. Sayed Selim, Chairman of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), Dr. Mohammed El-Bagoury, Supervisor of the Central Department if Legal Affairs, and Eng. Mahmoud Abu El-Yazid, Deputy General Manager of Eni Egypt.
During the meeting, the Minister appreciated the progress observed during his recent visit to Meleiha fields in the Western Desert, as well as the onging intensive operations in Abu Madi, reflecting clear progress in Eni’s exploration and production activities. He also emphasized the necessity of maintaining a fast pace during the current stage, taking immediate action to address any challenges, and ensuring continuous coordination.
For his part, Portoghese asserted the continuous progress of exploration and drilling operations, pointing out that operations will be intensified in the upcoming period, supported by available technical capabilities and qualified personnel, to help meet the growing domestic demand, particularly during the summer.
