The session was moderated by Nashwa El-Sherif from EGAS Media Department and Member of Parliament, with the participation of a number of EGAS leaders and chairmen of affiliated companies.

The event aimed at keeping pace with legislative developments, promoting and disseminating legal awareness, and supporting a balanced working environment that clarifies the intended objectives of the law, which represents an important step towards regulating labour relations and ensuring a fair balance between the rights and obligations of both employees and employers.

In his opening remarks Eng. Mahmoud Abdel Hamid  emphasized that human capital represents the true wealth of the petroleum sector, and that investing in the development of employees’ legal and professional capabilities is a key pillar for enhancing institutional performance and efficiency.

For his part, the Minister of Labour highlighted that the primary objective of implementing the new law is to guarantee balance between both parties of the production relationship and to achieve fairness in the work environment, thereby contributing to increased productivity and an improved investment climate in the country. He praised the keenness of the Eng Karim badawi Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to promptly activate the law and deepen understanding of its implementation mechanisms, through clarifying and unifying the new concepts introduced by the law and presenting its main amendments and safeguards.

The session witnessed a strong turnout and highly interactive engagement from employees, and concluded with an open discussion, which provided a platform for exchanging views and raising questions in a positive professional atmosphere. This reflects the petroleum sector’s commitment to keeping pace with new legislation and ensuring its optimal implementation within its companies.
