Agreements

Since the establishment of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) in September 2001 until the end of 2018, a total of 45 agreements have been signed for gas and crude oil exploration and exploitation in the Mediterranean Sea, Nile Delta and North Sinai areas, between EGAS and major international petroleum companies,

The total signature bonuses for these agreements amounted to US $ 285.25 million and the minimum financial commitments during the exploration phases of these agreements approximately $ 4.7 billion for 2D and 3D seismic acquisition, geological and geophysical studies and the drilling of 178 exploratory wells.

Current Situation:

33 concession agreements were valid until September 2019:

  • 22 valid agreements (15 offshore areas in Mediterranean Sea, 7 onshore areas in Nile Delta) signed between Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company EGAS and the international companies for gas and crude oil exploration and exploitation, 11 Agreements of them in Exploration phases and 11 Agreements in Development phases.
  • 11 valid agreements (8 offshore areas in Mediterranean Sea, 3 onshore areas in Nile Delta) signed with EGPC and under the supervision of Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company, all of these agreements in Development phases.
