Egas organizes a seminar to raise awareness about the coronavirus

As part of spreading medical awareness and virus prevention, the Medical Administration of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) organized a seminar on health awareness regarding the coronavirus on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at the company's headquarters under the patronage of Engineer Osama El-Bakly, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Amr Abdel Salam, Assistant to the Chairman for Medical Administration, and Dr. Sherine Abdel Latif, General Director of the Medical Administration. The company hosted Dr. Mohamed Haroun, Professor of Chest Diseases and Allergies at Al-Azhar University Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Hanaa Shalaby, Infection Control Specialist.
Dr. Haroun reviewed the facts about the novel coronavirus and how to prevent it, pointing out that the virus is transmitted through respiratory droplets and surface contact. He added that the symptoms of the coronavirus include fever, fatigue, and dry cough, and some patients may experience aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, or diarrhea. Usually, the symptoms are mild and gradually worsen.
Dr. Hanaa Shalaby explained the methods of preventing the virus by continuously cleaning hands with an alcohol-based sanitizer or washing them thoroughly with soap. She emphasized the importance of covering the mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, avoiding close contact with people who have fever and cough, and maintaining a distance of no less than one meter (3 feet). If you have a fever, cough, and difficulty breathing, you should promptly go to medical care facilities.
