EGAS Participates in a Panel Discussion Titled “Attracting Investments in the Mediterranean Energy Sector”

During the Mediterranean Offshore Conference (MOC 2024), Yasseen Mohamed Executive Managing Director of (EGAS), participated in a panel discussion titled “Attracting Investments in the Mediterranean Energy Sector.” He emphasized the importance of the new incentives provided by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to support exploration and production, including expediting drilling operations and increasing production. He also highlighted the significance of collaborating with neighbouring countries to secure additional natural gas supplies.

Dalia ElGabry Chairperson of Shell Egypt, reaffirmed Shell’s commitment to enhancing its investments in Egypt and developing new discoveries in the Mediterranean. Meanwhile, Wael Shaheen, Regional Vice President of BP Egypt, pointed out the importance of utilizing existing infrastructure and exploring ways to ensure the sustainability of supply chains. Nicolas Kacharov, General Manager of Energean International, stressed the need for a long-term vision for energy transition. Maria Rita Galli, CEO of DESFA emphasized the importance of cooperation between Egypt and Europe in the gas sector to support the energy transition and reduce carbon emissions.
