We realize the importance of applying the principles of sustainable development in achieving the goals and overcoming the current and future economic, environmental, and social challenges. The company also acknowledges that economic, environmental, and social performance affects and is affected by the operational efficiency of companies, as they are an integral part of them. Therefore, improvement in one of these elements has a positive impact on the rest of the system, which contributes to implementing the international goals of sustainable development.

Climate change: At the international level, Egypt is fully committed to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, as well as the National Climate Change Strategy 2050, by working to limit climate change through one of the mechanisms (adaptation - mitigation) of the effects of those changes by moving towards (energy rationalization, new and renewable energy, in addition to the proper management of waste handling. This is done through the initiatives and efforts undertaken by the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company and its subsidiaries towards prevention, mitigation or adaptation in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and their effects.

Biodiversity: Egypt is the natural habitat to a wide variety of important ecosystems and aquatic and terrestrial life such as pastures, agricultural lands, wetlands, and deserts which require conservation. Therefore, EGAS Holding Company works closely with its subsidiaries to ensure that surrounding environment, whether terrestrial, marine or plant, and its accompanying organisms and species, is well surveyed and studied and all mitigation measures are in place before the commencement in any project.
